Prize Book Committee
Book awards presented to outstanding local high school students.
The Prize Book Committee is the local arm of the Harvard Alumni Association program that presents a book to an outstanding junior at each participating high school. Books are presented annually in more than 1,900 high schools around the world to outstanding students in the next-to-graduating class who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and achievement in nonacademic areas.
There is, of course, a hope that such students will apply to Harvard, but interest in Harvard is not a requirement to receive the award and recipients are chosen by the high schools. The committee calls for Harvard Club volunteers each spring to attend high school awards programs and present books to Harvard prize winners.
